Half an hour after my dog gets a new toy...

She is the face of repentance, isn't she? So much for getting her a durable dog toy. I tremble for our Christmas tree; she already chewed off some of the pre-strung lights over the summer when it was stored in the room where she sleeps, but I doubt Christmas will go by without her snatching an ornament or two! The other day she took out a couple of potatoes and a party hat. My mom caught her with a potato hanging out of her mouth! What a goofball. Her name is Darby, and she is almost a year old. She certainly makes life interesting. ;)
In other news, I am DONE with school for a glorious month and have epic plans to clean everything. We'll see how that goes!

I have never seen a dog destroy a kong like that! Damn! That is amazing. I hope she did not eat that part. Darby is a cutie though. SOunds like you have your hands full.

Enjoy your school break!

Marla: She ripped the top bulge off whole and chews it separately. They need to make titanium-strength chews just for Labs!

FXSmom: Luckily, Labs have a lot of control over how much pressure they exert when they bite down! Otherwise, my hands might not have survived this year. ;)

LOLS. Sonic, my family's puppy, went through an "indestructible" dog toy in an hour. The four legged family members are the best!

Happy times!

No way!!! I have a student that could do that much damage in an hour, but a dog??? ;)

Wow. I had a rottweiler who ate bits off the outside of our house, and even she couldn't destroy a Kong toy. Impressive.

our dog was never really that into a kong (sounds like a movie title?) ...
one day ... we were attempting to play fetch in the backyard (ours is a chocolate lab ... aren't they supposed to LOVE fetch?) ... we went in. and i remembered the next morning that the kong was outside ... couldn't find it anywhere. fast forward several days later ... red rubbery chips all around the base of one of our oak trees. the following day ... the kong all chewed up. apparently squirrels like the fact that one time it had peanut butter in it. but to this day ... i cannot figure out HOW they got it up the tree!
